The Human Body including labelling internal and external parts of the body, the skeleton, respiration, circulation, senses. Healthy living, digestion, teeth.

Forces and motion including pushes and pulls, gravity, air resistance, floating and sinking, friction.

Mini-beasts.  Collecting, observing, grouping.  Preferred habitats.  Snail study.  Life cycles.  Food chains.

History

Roman Britain including reasons for the invasion, the treatment of the Celts, home life, life as a Roman soldier.  Roman roads and towns, entertainment, looking at evidence.  Visit to Houlgate.

The Saxons including reasons for the invasion.  Saxon boats and villages.  Thanes, Churls, Slaves. Saxon farming, laws, religion, legends.  Archaeological evidence.

Clapham village study.  Consider changes in buildings over the years, their uses, design and materials used.  Changes in land and building use.  (Geography and History cross-curricular during Summer term.

Geography

Where in the world - climate changes in different regions of the world, atlas work, creating a passport.

The weather - looking at regional differences in Britain and comparing Britain to other places in the world.  Recording local weather conditions on a daily basis.

Studying local environment using the ‘Our Street’ booklet.  Comparing rural and urban areas (Ingleborough and Bradford).  Drawing plans. Map work.

ICT

Word processing using Microsoft Word.  Inserting a drawing. Posters and labels sheets, Serif Draw (graphics).  Times tables on Excel.

Create a chart in Publisher/ Page Plus to record weather. Create posters in Page Plus. Create graphics in Excel. Air resistance - design aeroplanes in Draw Plus.
