Fun with Maths and Science

www.dr-mark.co.uk/ - Register and then click on Free Downloads.
Great if you want something fun to do (after you have done Mr G’s homework). Good for all years.

Science

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/ Science and Nature for all ages. Just put your topic into the search engine and off you go! The interactive body is also good for year 6 Science.

www.medtropolis.com/ A virtual body to assemble – good for year 6 Science

http://www.funbrain.com/teachers/subj_sci.html Plenty of educational games for ALL ages.

http://www.planet-science.com/home.html
The section for under 11’s is good but don’t restrict yourself to it; the Library and Bad Science sections are really good too. The site also has a search facility so if you need information on ‘light’ then just put 'light' in inverted commas into the search engine. There are also experiments to try at home but these must always be done with parents.
There is also a games section called Wired (but we didn’t tell you about that).

All subjects

http://www.teachers.tv/home.do
This is not just for teachers (who are all hyper-intelligent super beings and don’t really need it!).
Click on Video Library to see programs on various topics

http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/
Click here for all subjects and revision guides. Do not forget the Secondary Zone where there is also lots more information and more revision guides.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/
The Revision and Learning section (on the menu down the left hand side) is also good with games, activities, fun facts and revision quizzes

History

http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ancient/
An excellent History site for all years. Just put your topic in the search engine and off you go. Victorians, Vikings, Tudors – they are all here!

Design and Technology

http://www.dtonline.org/intro.htm

Although a site aimed at Key Stage 3-4 it has many aspects of interest to our pupils, including information on electronics, structures (a good section on bridges) and mechanisms.

http://www.geocities.com/davidvwilliamson/ An excellent blend of craft projects and more advanced electronic gizmos. Needs parent assistance on most projects. Good for the Summer Holidays.

English

http://www.funbrain.com/ Plenty of educational games for ALL ages - Grammar Gorillas is great fun.

http://www.whiteheadm.co.uk/html/josies_poetry.htm
A site recommended by the TES with dozens of poems on all manner subjects.

http://www.cool-reads.co.uk/default.asp
A site created and run by two teenage boys, Tim and Chris Cross. Both like to read and here they review over 1,000 books they've enjoyed.

Music
http://www.teachingideas.co.uk/music/contents.htm
This site has music ideas and resources for teachers, parents and pupils. This site is of particular help to parents who want to develop music knowledge and understanding in their child (possibly of more use to those starting out in music).

If you know of other good educational sites (or have comments on the ones above) then email them to Mr Gabriel via Mrs Hewitt at chsec@bradfordgrammar.com and he will try to include them.
